READINGS AT MASS

This week Matthew takes us ‘up the hill’ with Jesus and begins his ‘Sermon on the Mount’, often called the essence of Jesus’ teaching. We’ll hear more of it in the coming weeks. We can listen to it and hopefully pat ourselves on the back for measuring up to the high ideals presented by Jesus, but because we fail so much we can be consoled by Paul’s realism and Zephaniah’s insistence on the need to be humble.

RETURNING TO CHURCH

It has been good to see people gradually finding their way back to regular worship after the uncertainties of Covid. Soon we hope that parents will bring their children to Mass, and we can restart the religious teaching for them once again. It is in your own hands.

LORETO GRAMMAR SCHOOL

Loreto Grammar School are looking for a full-time Finance Officer for the administration of their bank accounts. There is a small notice on the parish notice board and full details are on the School website www.loretogrammar.co.uk. The closing date for applications is February 20.
