QUEEN FOR SEVENTY YEARS
The Saturday evening Mass on 4 June will be offered for the health and wellbeing of our monarch who has been Queen for 70 years. I shall be attending the choral celebratory service in St Mary’s CofE at 6.30pm on Sunday 5 June and you are welcome to join me.
WHIT SUNDAY
Please remember that amid all the joyful celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee, it is also the birthday of the Church, the feast of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles in spectacular form, and with extraordinary results. Do pray that the Holy Spirit will come upon all of us with the same force and power, renewing ‘the face of the earth’, and in particular the life of our parish here in Lymm.
Pentecost marks the end of the Easter season and we return to Week 10 in Ordinary Time, week II in the Prayer of the Church.
CHRISTIAN RESPONSIBILITY AND CLIMATE CHANGE
I’ve been asked to advertise a talk by a lively Anglican vicar, Rev Mark Coleman, in Liverpool on Tuesday 7 June 2022, 7pm – 9pm at St Anne’s church, Overbury Street, Liverpool L7 3HJ.
LORETO GRAMMAR SCHOOL (BOWDON)
The Head Teacher Mrs J.A. Beever advises that there will be an Open Day for Year 5 girls who are interested in joining the school in Year 7 in 2023 and an entrance examination on Friday September 23 2022. All information will be posted on the website www.loretogrammar.co.uk from 25 June.
Applications can then be submitted until the morning of 31 July 2022.
