Greetings to all. The reading from the Acts of the Apostles tells of Paul and Barnabas journeying along the south coast of Turkey with some success, but also meeting opposition. The Book of Revelation has John’s graphic description his vision of the triumph of those who have been through persecution. Jesus in the gospel talks briefly about his ‘flock’.
TODAY we are asked to pray particularly for vocations to the priesthood and to the religious life. Is God calling you? or someone you know…are you supportive?
CONGRATULATIONS to the eight children who receive Our Lord in Holy Communion for the first time this weekend. There will be a little party for them next Sunday 15 may after the 10.30am Mass.
There has been an amazing response to the request for volunteers to deliver envelopes in the Statham area. It is lawful to deliver envelopes only during these dates. Please check to see if the envelopes in bundles are ready for you to collect. Just deliver the envelopes – the recipients are shown where to contribute.
There is an important meeting of the committee on Wednesday 11 May at 7.00pm in the URC.
THURSDAY morning after the 9.15am Mass there is a coffee morning with toasted fruit loaf and the opportunity to gather for a bit of a chat. Numbers (and noise) have diminished somewhat since the limitations came in because of Covid, but different people have been coming along – a men’s table as well as a women’s table!
Everyone is welcome. Similarly it has been encouraging to share the half hour of prayer on Tuesdays before the evening Mass. There seems to be a small crowd of regulars. Could you come and join us? There is so much to pray for.
