NEWS AND INFORMATION
40th ORDINATION ANNIVERSARY: I find it hard to believe but today (29th) I celebrate the 40th anniversary
of my ordination as a priest. On Monday, 30 September you are invited to join me for Mass and a Buffet Reception at 7pm at St Vincent’s, Knutsford.
Because of the Parish Day it has been decided that we will now celebrate my anniversary here at St Winefride’s after the Vigil Mass on Saturday, 19 October. When I hope you will join me for a drink and some nibbles.
CHILDREN’S LITURGY: We are desperately in need of some new volunteers to help with the Children’s Liturgy at our 10.30am Mass as some of
the present volunteers have had to step down. It would be very sad to lose this great service to our youngest parishioners. If you can help, please contact Christine Martins on 01925 552655. Many thanks.
FAMILY FAST: This Friday, 4 October is Family Fast Day when we are encouraged to cut down on what we eat and the money we save we give to
CAFOD to support their work with the poor throughout the world. Envelopes are available in the porch if you would like to use them and there will be a retiring collection next Sunday.
CAMBODIA LINK: You will have heard me talk from time to time about my links with a parish in Cambodia. I am delighted that Fr Totet, the
Parish Priest in Siem Reap, will be visiting us in October. He will hopefully join us for the Vigil Mass on 19 October and will talk about his work when he returns in early November. I hope we can establish a link between our two parishes and the communities
he serves in Cambodia so that we can support the amazing work he and his team are doing. In the future I hope to take a group to Cambodia to see the work he is doing.
