NEWS AND INFORMATION
RETIRING COLLECTION Today for the Clergy Education and Training Fund which supports those preparing for
the priesthood in our diocese.
ENQUIRY GROUP: Are you interested in learning more about the Catholic faith or maybe becoming a Catholic?
A few people have expressed interest in joining our Parish family recently. Beginning each Thursday from 14 November you are invited to St Vincent’s Knutsford where we will reflect on the Catholic faith. As well as those who are enquiring, we welcome any committed
members of the parish who would like to join us to reflect on our faith and support those who are looking to become Catholics.
NEW LECTIONARY: The Bishops of England and Wales have approved a new translation of the Lectionary (the
readings at Mass) to be used in all churches from the beginning of Advent. I have ordered new Mass Books with the new translation which hopefully will be with us by the beginning of Advent.
HOLY COMMUNION UNDER BOTH KINDS: Until the Covid Pandemic it was normal to offer Holy Communion under both
kinds that is the Sacred Host and from the Chalice. I propose that we will re-introduce this from the beginning of Advent. No one should feel under any obligation to receive from the chalice it is simply offered for those who would like. Whilst to receive
under both kinds is a fuller sign, the Church teaches that we receive the Lord body, blood, soul and divinity under either form.
OUR PARISH SVP CONFERENCE will be holding a coffee morning after Mass next Sunday 17th November. We are
hoping to raise funds for our Twinned Conference project in Holy Cross, Cheriyakonni, Neyettinkara, in India and for our general work. The project is to provide interest-free loans for 10 families so they can set up in petty business (usually street stalls)
to generate some additional income for their daily needs and we have pledged to provide £800 over the next 4 years – your contributors this will be greatly appreciated. We would also like to welcome new members to our group which meets fortnightly for prayers
and reports on the visits we make to our housebound senior fellow parishioners and others in their homes or residential/nursing homes. Also, please tell us about anyone local you know of who is housebound or could do with a visit now and again – they don’t
have to be Catholic or a member of our parish. Conference President, Phil Byrne – email: Phil58.Byrne@gmail.com/mob: 07802
