NEW NEWSLETTER:
I hope you like the new style Newsletter with a reflection for each Sunday. This was requested at our recent Parish Day.
MANY THANKS
for your generosity in last week’s retiring collection for the Clergy Education and Training Fund which raised £394.45.
THE ENQUIRY GROUP
We had several people enquiring about joining the church at our meeting last Thursday. Our next meeting will be on Thursday 28 November at 7pm in the church hall at Knutsford. We would welcome any parishioners
who would like to reflect more on their own faith and support those who are enquiring.
NEW LECTIONARY: The Bishops of England and Wales have approved a new translation of the Lectionary (the
readings at Mass) to be used in all churches from the beginning of Advent. I have ordered new Mass Books with the new translation which hopefully will be with us by the beginning of Advent.
HOLY COMMUNION UNDER BOTH KINDS: Until the Covid Pandemic it was normal to offer Holy Communion under both
kinds that is the Sacred Host and from the Chalice. I propose that we will re-introduce this from the beginning of Advent. No one should feel under any obligation to receive from the chalice it is simply offered for those who would like. Whilst to receive
under both kinds is a fuller sign, the Church teaches that we receive the Lord body, blood, soul and divinity under either form.
OUR PARISH SVP CONFERENCE will be holding a coffee morning after 10.30am Mass today to raise funds for
our Twinned Conference project in Holy Cross, Cheriyakonni, Neyettinkara, in India and for our general work. We would also like to welcome new members to our group which meets fortnightly for prayers and reports on the visits we make to our housebound senior
fellow parishioners and others in their homes or residential/nursing homes. Also, please tell us about anyone local you know of who is housebound or could do with a visit now and again – they don’t have to be Catholic or a member of our parish. Conference
