NEWS AND INFORMATION
FAMILY FAST DAY:
Your offerings and envelopes will be collected after Mass today.
MANY THANKS
for your very generous response to the appeal to support Fr Panus in Cambodia. A total of £1083 was raised including some very generous individual donations.
THE PRAYER GROUP
will next meet on Monday, 26 February at 7pm in the hall. All are welcome.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
will be celebrated after 9.30am Mass on Thursdays in Lent.
WORLD DAY OF PRAYER: We have had splendid responses from the other
9 ”Churches Together“ communities in the Lymm area, warmly providing readers and promises of attendance, to make this a worthy, joint tribute to the Christian women of Palestine, who have written this year’s service. Please let us have a good St Winefride’s
turn out this Friday, 1 March at 7.30pm to equal and welcome this heartening local support.
THE CORE GROUP met last Tuesday as we continue in our formation to
support the Parish in our Parish Day. We were considering the call to prayer and how the core group can inspire the parish to pray for the Spirit to inspire the Parish Day. We considered the Gospel from the 1st Sunday of Lent. As you will remember this was
St. Mark’s account of the start of Jesus’ ministry. Even Jesus needed time with the Father praying to discern what to do next. It was only when he had prayed for a long time that he began his ministry proclaiming the Good News. As a parish we also need time
to discern what God wants from us and what the Spirit may inspire us to do. What we know is that the Lord is with us. We continue to ask for your prayers for the Parish Day.
