PILLARS OF FAITH – A Reflection by Christel Casse, Lay Pastoral Assistant. This week we celebrate Saints Peter and Paul, the great pillars of
our Church. Two men who couldn’t have been more different; Peter the impulsive fisherman, Paul the educated scholar who once persecuted Christians. Yet both discovered that God’s grace transforms our weaknesses into strengths. Peter’s rashness became bold
leadership when filled with the Holy Spirit. Paul, the persecutor of Christians, later became a passionate evangelist after his encounter with Christ on the Damascus road. Their feast reminds us that discipleship isn’t about perfection but about responding
to God’s call wherever we find ourselves. In our own parish community, we see this transformation at work: the shy person finding their voice in ministry and the busy parent discovering joy in service. Just as Christ called Simon "Peter" (the rock) and entrusted
him with building the Church, we too are called to be stones of faith, standing firm in our beliefs and supporting one another. Saints Peter and Paul show us that the Church is built not on human strength, but on God’s mercy working through ordinary people
willing to say "yes" to extraordinary grace.
MARCH FOR LIFE UK
on the first Saturday of September (6th) in London. The right to life underpins every other right we have and without it every other right is rendered meaningless. Abortion denies the most vulnerable in our
society of their most basic right which is why this year’s theme is "Human Rights For All Humans." Unite with thousands of others at this family friendly event where we recognise the value of life from conception and stand up for all those who have been impacted
by abortion. Find out more at https://www.marchforlife.co.uk/,email info@marchforlife.co.uk or contact Mary Jones on 07916 578902.
