NEWS AND INFORMATION
MANY THANKS for your generous Family Fast offerings which totalled £445. Also, Fr Panus has written to thank you all for your very generous response to support him in Cambodia. I recently sent him over $7000 from our two parishes.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS will be celebrated after 9.30am Mass on Thursdays in Lent.
THE CORE GROUP
will meet on Tuesday, 12 March after our evening Mass to continue our preparations for our Parish Day.
PLEASE REMEMBER IN YOUR PRAYERS
the children who will celebrate the Sacrament of Forgiveness for the first time on Thursday evening. May they come to a deeper understanding of the Lord’s love and mercy.
URGENT APPEAL
In the next couple of weeks an attempt is to be made to widely decriminalise abortion up to the birth. This is a further assault on the sanctity of human life in our society.
This extreme amendment to the Criminal Justice Bill is being made by Diana Johnson MP and parliamentarians will be under pressure to support the amendment on grounds of compassion for mothers who seek to abort their unborn child beyond the legal limits. The
effect would be to withdraw legal protection from the unborn. It is important to make our voice heard in support of the unborn child. Please contact your Member of Parliament to ask that she oppose the decriminalization of abortion up to birth: Andy Carter,
House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA.
